Pamukkale from Dalyan

Ephessus & Pamukkale

This 2 day tour gives you a unique chance to visit two of Turkey’s most extraordinary sights; the ancient city of Ephesus and the natural phenomena of Pamukkale. The Ephesus and Pamukkale Tour are combined with an overnight stay in Pamukkale.

Ephesus was an ancient Greek and later, a major Roman city, and was once the commercial centre of the ancient world. During the Roman period it had a population of more than 250,000 making it one of the largest cities in the Mediterranean.

Ephesus contains the largest collection of Roman ruins in the eastern Mediterranean, which is evident as you stroll along the ancient marble streets, experiencing the splendor of this once mighty city. The grandeur and scale of the ancient architecture is extraordinary and includes the Temple of Hadrian, the Monumental Fountains, the Roman Baths, the Library of Celsius, the Odeon, the Agora, the Great Amphitheatre and the Temple of Artemis; completed around 550 BC, and one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

Pamukkale is a magical fairyland of dazzling white concentric terraces, stalactites and pools. Created by the area’s warm mineral water, which cools as it cascades over the cliff edge and deposits its calcium. It’s a strange piece of landscape unlike anything else you’ll see in Turkey. So extraordinary is the spectacle that the ancient Greco-Roman city of Hierapolis was built on the site with the soothing thermal waters having been used as a spa since the 2nd century AD.

Both Pamukkale and Hierapolis are recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and protected accordingly.
